RECOMMENDATION METHODOLOGY

Software should be ranked by the problem it can solve.

HVAC Decision Engine separates diagnosis from monetization. Software-fit recommendations are based on the diagnosed constraint and relevant capabilities, not on which vendor pays the highest commission.

01 / INPUT

The business constraint comes first.

The recommendation layer does not begin with a vendor list. It receives the diagnosed state of the business: the primary constraint, relevant secondary signals and the confidence of that diagnosis.

If the diagnosis does not support a software intervention, the correct recommendation can be to measure, change process, add capacity, improve economics or do nothing yet.

02 / CAPABILITY FIT

Products are matched to required capabilities.

A product can rank strongly only when its relevant capabilities align with the constraint being addressed. Booking, estimating, follow-up, scheduling and dispatch are different needs and should not be collapsed into one universal product score.

  • Constraint relevance: does the product address the diagnosed problem?
  • Capability coverage: are the required workflow capabilities present?
  • Scope fit: is the product broader or narrower than the business actually needs?
  • Implementation relevance: can the workflow realistically be adopted by the team?

03 / SCORES

Fit scores are directional, not guarantees.

A software-fit score is a structured indication of capability alignment. It is not a product-quality rating, a forecast of ROI or a probability that the implementation will succeed.

Actual fit still depends on plan level, current vendor capabilities, migration effort, user adoption, pricing and the operator's real workflow.

04 / COMMERCIAL FIREWALL

Affiliate payout has zero ranking weight.

Commission amount, payout structure and commercial relationship are excluded from recommendation order. A vendor without an affiliate relationship can outrank one that pays a commission if capability fit is stronger.

Where a commercial relationship exists, it should be disclosed separately. See the affiliate disclosure.

05 / VERIFICATION

The final purchase decision should reproduce the real workflow.

Before changing systems, the operator should verify the exact capability in the current product and plan, then test the real use case in a demo or trial where possible.

The decision engine narrows the search. It does not replace vendor due diligence or the operator's own commercial decision.
